Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Comparative Effectiveness and Child Health
General Information
The fellowship is designed to provide training and research experience relevant to valuation of child health using decision science and economic evaluation approaches. Established methods for conducting cost-effectiveness or comparative effectiveness studies in adult populations often require modification or novel approaches for application to pediatric populations. Ongoing research studies include health state valuation, preference assessment, cost-effectiveness analysis, comparative effectiveness, and conjoint analysis.
This fellowship focuses on methods and applications of decision science and economic evaluation in the context of comparative effectiveness and child health. Post-doctoral fellows are expected to collaborate on established projects and are encouraged to conduct independent research relating to economic evaluation methods for valuing child health with an emphasis on study inception, manuscript writing, and applying for grants. Fellows are also encouraged to pursue research related to the development of new approaches for valuing child health interventions. The CHEAR Unit’s resources and collaborative support enable post-doctoral fellows to build their own research programs. The University of Michigan has a vibrant health policy community and fellows are encouraged to take advantage of educational and research opportunities at the School of Public Health and the newly-founded Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation.
